I’ve just been reading over some tips for pregnant women on how to handle their morning (or any-time-at-all) sickness and the fatigue that comes with the first trimester for a few clients.
I found this blog post, and it hit me, that this isn’t only relevant for pregnant women, but also for many people with an injury – don’t get me wrong – I’m not calling pregnancy an injury, but some of the advice is the same none-the-less.
Below are a few quick easy tips – just make sure that you follow your health-care professionals advice – they’re the ones who know what is appropriate for your situation.
- make rest a priority
- make sure you get help from others if or when possible or necessary
- in some cases cut down on your non-essential activities
- ensure your diet is nutritious
- ensure that you are getting regular gentle exercise – too much rest and too little exercise will increase your fatigue and you’ll also lose your muscle tone and fitness levels
To sum up: rest as you need to, but keep active, just keep it gentle – and follow your health providers advice.
